Helps Ministry Easter Luncheon - Saturday, April 11th, 2009Every year Food For Friends tries to do something to help the poor during the Spring. It just so happens that Easter is in the Spring. This year we'll be joining the Helps Ministry of Elgin to serve an Easter luncheon at their facility. This is an excellent opportunity to serve with your family. Annual Golf Outing - Tuesday, September 14th, 2010This date marks our seventh golf outing event which has become an important part of the Food For Friends fund raising efforts. Please take a moment to mark your calendars so as to reserve the date to join us. Our website will be open for golf outing registration on May 1st, 2010. Thanksgiving 2009Thanksgiving is a special time of the year for Food For Friends and our opportunities to server the poor in the Chicago area have grown. The Thanksgiving holiday starts on Friday, November 20th, 2009 at Willow Creek Community Church where we will serve a Thanksgiving dinner to the moms of Fellowship Housing. On Saturday, November 21st, 2009 Food For Friends will provide turkey dinners at the Bethesda Church in Elgin. On Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 we will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at Pacific Garden Mission and providing Thanksgiving meals for ATTCOM (All Things Through Christ Mission). Then, on Thanksgiving day, we will join the Helps Ministry in Elgin to serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to the poor. Christmas at Helps Ministry - December 19th, 2009Food For Friends helps out by providing food and other items needed during the Christmas season. And, of course, it wouldn't be Christmas if the kids didn't get something a little special. This is a wonderful event during a wonderful time of the year.
